Manor Gardens is a small school with a strong sense of community. Our co-educational school has small classes allowing for individual attention. We offer a child-centred holistic system of education.
Problem Solving/Constructivist Approach to Mathematics
Each child’s understanding of Mathematics is actively created and based on knowledge that has been developed by their own experiences and their continuously making sense of their world. It is not passively received from the teacher. Children construct new Mathematical knowledge by solving appropriate problems, reflecting on their solutions and discussing their ideas with others. Mathematical concepts are constructed and made meaningful when children integrate them into their existing individual structures of knowledge. The success of this approach is evident in the excellent performance of our children in the various Maths competitions.
Child-Centred Approach to Learning
When children are educated in a way that satisfies their developmental needs, abilities and interests, and which makes sense to them, they enjoy learning, thrive and achieve great results. Manor Gardens uses this unique child-centred approach to learning, based on many years of research and experience. The evidence of its success is seen in the children’s many academic achievements.
